Color is extremely powerful. Color can change the way a person feels and depending on the facility's unit that you are working with, it's very important factor in determining whether to work with "color themes" that are subdued or stimulating. Certain colors slow our perception of time and others seem to accelerate it. Some Reds have been shown to reduce pain caused by rheumatism and arthritis. Blues can subdue anxious/agressive patients in the ER department. Orange creates a feeling of well-being in social and dining areas Pink is sometimes used in treating patients with headache disorders Green is a combination of happyt yellow and tranquil blue which makes it a great stress reducer.

New Product: AA Accents presents it's "Dura-Decal". All of our photography can be printed on our fabric media paper, which has a low tack adhesive. The decals can be removed and reused leaving no residue or damage to the surface or wall. We have added a mat and frame to the image so this decal looks like a framed piece of artwork. We can print in a variety of sizes. The decal is also semi-transparent so it can be used on windows, lights and more. This product can be used in MRI suites and other areas where conventional art and framing can not be used.

| Art & the effects it has on the Healing Process |
|
The organization PlaneTree was started by a patient after her less than positive experience in a hospital and it has had a major influence in moving patient-centered care into the mainstream of healthcare today. The organization has created it's own model for patient-centered care that lists 9 elements: The 7th element is "Provide Healing Art". We at AA Accents believe that a properly designed and decorated healthcare facility should result in a "healing environment" one that enables and inspires the patients, their families and the expert caregivers. Artwork for healthcare should not be an afterthought, it needs to be planned, coordinated and implemented by professionals specializing in healthcare. AA Accents can implement an art program for your healthcare facility.

The Power of Art
Over the last few years, we’ve all become familiar with different types of “therapies”. Aroma, light and sound are a few more talked about types. These types of therapies are not only good for us, but we can do them for ourselves.
Finally studies have been done that support what we in the art business have known for years – art can be used as a visual therapy. It’s been proven that art in the workplace increases productivity. Art in medical offices helps calm the patients and art in the hospital can actually help with the healing process. Art isn’t just something pretty you hang on the wall to enhance your décor, it helps make a difference! We specialize in providing comforting and inspiring artwork that makes the facilities look good and the people we serve feel good. Our clients nationwide know our work contributes to creating a highly valued, healing environment rich in creative symbolism and serenity.
Art can evoke many different emotions. Happiness, calmness, excitement and overall comfort are just a few. The artwork can also warm up a patient’s room or the hallways of a facility and make it more welcoming to not only the patient, but their visitors as well as the staff.
Art is also being used as a form of “way finding” at many facilities.
AA Accents (Artistic Accents) provided this type of art to Bethany Terrace Centre in Morton Grove, Illinois. Themed art helps Alzheimer patients find their way to their hall and then to their room. We have also provided art and framing for various Readjustment Counseling Centers as well as Veteran’s hospitals around the country, helping them create healing environments.
As you can see, the power of art is amazing. Art touches all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds. Everyone can benefit from art’s therapeutic abilities. So don’t just take time to smell the flowers, take time to enjoy the art adorning the walls around you.
